Meet Your Future
Registered Dietitian

Cristina Luibil, MS, RD, LDN

Allow me to introduce myself! I’m Cristina (she/her), the Registered Dietitian and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor who’s here to support you in finding the passion and joy in food and nutrition.

I am trained to provide support and promote learning by assisting you in honing in on what is important to you, and meeting you where you are. This means that I don’t guide the sessions, you do. I won’t have a predetermined agenda or a checklist of things to tell you about how you should eat. My goal is always to work towards your nutrition goal. My hope is that my clients see me not only as the dietitian they seek out for support, but someone who they can truly see themselves talking to without fear of judgement. This was the premise when choosing a name for my practice, as down to earth very accurately reflects how I want my business to be portrayed, but also perfectly describes me, both as a dietitian and as a person.

My Approach

Through some revelations while I was training to become a dietitian, I realized the importance of thinking about health from a new perspective. I consider myself an Anti-Diet Dietitian.

Anti-diet does not mean anti-people-who-have-dieted; anti-diet means anti-diet culture. Diet culture, to put it simply, is one of society's systems of oppression around food and bodies. I practice through a weight-inclusive, anti-diet, Health at Every Size® lens. I teach those interested about the premise of “sustainable nutrition for lifelong wellness™️”, or the ability to sustain an enjoyable way of eating for their whole life, free of restriction and guilt. I want to take back wellness from diet culture!

At Down to Earth Nutrition, there is no weight stigmatizing or body shaming, no rigid food rules, no unrealistic plans that don't mesh with your lifestyle. Nutrition counseling appointments, no matter the reason or diagnosis, do not center on measures of body weight or size. Appointments do not focus on food morality or food restriction. I provide counseling and support using an anti-diet approach. I do not provide traditional diets or meal plans. I do provide medical nutrition therapy. We can focus on a health condition and focus on eating in a sustainable way at the same time.

Nutrition is food, and food lays the groundwork for more than we think. Food is culture, family, friends, emotion, religion, social encounters, sustenance, happiness, and joy.  believe we should not be afraid to reap the benefits from that joy.
