Meet Your Future
Registered Dietitian

Cristina Luibil, MS, RD, LDN

Allow me to introduce myself! I’m Cristina (she/her), the Registered Dietitian and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor who’s here to support you in finding the passion and joy in food and nutrition.

I am trained to provide support and promote learning by assisting you in honing in on what is important to you, and meeting you where you are. This means that I don’t guide the sessions, you do. I won’t have a predetermined agenda or a checklist of things to tell you about how you should eat. My goal is always to work towards your nutrition goal. My hope is that my clients see me not only as the dietitian they seek out for support, but someone who they can truly see themselves talking to without fear of judgement. This was the premise when choosing a name for my practice, as down-to-earth and grounded very accurately reflect how I want my business to be portrayed, but also perfectly describes me, both as a dietitian and as a person. (Aterra is a play on words, stemming from the Sicilian "a terra", meaning grounded. Cristina is first generation Sicilian-American.)

My Approach

Through some revelations while I was training to become a dietitian, I realized the importance of thinking about health from a new perspective. I consider myself a weight-inclusive dietitian.

At Aterra Nutrition, there is no weight stigmatizing or body shaming, no rigid food rules, no unrealistic plans that don't mesh with your lifestyle. Nutrition services, no matter the reason or diagnosis, do not center on measures of body weight or size. We will focus on behaviors to improve health outcomes without focusing on weight.

I provide counseling and support using a non-diet approach, which means we will focus on a gentle way to choose what to eat without focusing on restriction, guilt around food, or body shaming. We can focus on your concerns and focus on eating in a sustainable way at the same time.

Nutrition is food, and food lays the groundwork for more than we think. Food is culture, family, friends, tradition, emotion, religion, social encounters, sustenance, happiness, and joy. I believe we should not be afraid to reap the benefits from that joy.
